The candlelit atmosphere
To give shape to their idea, the team started from the original wireless lamp: the candle. They wanted to transform the simple and classic design of the candle into a modern and sustainable alternative. This idea gave rise to the Humble One: an energy-efficient and rechargeable table lamp with a beautiful light source that makes you dream of the cosy ambience of yesteryear.
The brand name Humble therefore refers to their first realisation: small and friendly. They've extended this line to their other designs. All the lights have a simple and modest design that fits into almost any interior.
Five friends with one goal
Humble's story began in 2019. Entrepreneur Jorren worked as a lighting consultant in Thailand for a long time. As his job at the time suggests, he had a strong predilection for lighting. He liked lamps, but not the wiring. Jorren returned to the Netherlands and brainstormed with four friends about his ideal image of wireless lighting.
Those friends are Gert, Tom, Lenny, and Douwe. Four industrial engineers who have lost their hearts to product design, development, and technology. Together with Jorren, they are the driving force behind the Amsterdam-based lighting brand.
Innovative and future-oriented
The Humble One was soon followed by the Humble Two: a classic-looking table lamp with a lampshade. But the range of this Dutch lighting brand is not limited to table lamps. Their collection was recently expanded with the Humble Bee: an innovative wireless and dimmable wall lamp with a battery life of up to 220 hours.
Smart lighting is the future, and Humble knows how to capitalise on that, too. The Humble Smart lights work seamlessly with apps and accessories that support Zigbee. For example, you can use the motion sensor, the remote control, or the Philips Hue mobile app to control the lighting.
