What to look for with spots in a concrete ceiling?

For the installation of spotlights in a solid ceiling (e.g., hollow core slabs, pre-cast concrete panels …), we recommend round holes. These holes are easiest to drill – by yourself or by a specialised company - with the aid of a hole saw. These bores ensure a nice delineation without excess cutting lines.

It is always best to choose a flush-mounting spotlight model before drilling these bore holes. That way you automatically have the right diameter. Can't find a model? Then go for a standard diameter of 80 mm. The product range is greatest at this diameter. When it comes to depth, the most common choice is 10 to 12 cm. And, flush-mounting spotlights in a solid ceiling requires flat springs.

As far as voltage is concerned, there are recessed spots that work on 230V and spots on 12V. In most cases, 230V spots are used and they are also the easiest to install.

Do you want to get started with the installation of your recessed spotlights yourself, but do you still have questions? Our customer service will be happy to help you!
