Gubi Bestlite BL5 Ø16 Wall lamp Black brass

Legendary classic The Bestlite BL5 wall lamp rounds out the expansive Bestlite lamp collection. The design is from the 1930s and was drawn by British designer Robert Dudley Best. It was inspired by the Bauhaus style and the work of Walter Gropius, Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe. Revolutionary for the time because of the aesthetic design and unusually high functionality, the Bestlite lamps are still considered to be examples of the classic Bauhaus design. This lighting series became really famous when Winston Churchill placed the table lamp on his desk in Whitehall. In 2004, the Danish design company Gubi, which relaunches classics of modern design, acquired the international manufacturing and distribution rights of this special collection of designer lamps. Maximum flexibility The adjustable height, tilt and swivel element on the rod is the centrepiece of this fixture. The ball joint holding the shade allows this lamp to be set in almost any position. The Bestlite BL5 wall lamp is infinitely adjustable in height from 47 cm to 80 cm (measured from the bottom of the wall mount). The arm can be pivoted and it tilts 90° from vertical to horizontal. In addition, the reflector can be adjusted as desired thanks to the ball joint at the head. Versatile With this much flexibility, there are endless options for using this beautifully designed wall lamp. It not only meets the traditional requirements of using a wall lamp as a light source, it also has decorative value. Different finishes The lamp is available in different models and its simple and clear design will make it fit harmoniously in any environment. The Bestlite BL5 wall lamp is available in brass or chrome. An optional cord with integrated switch for connecting to a socket is available (for when there is no connection at the desired location). The lampshades are available in different colours and finishes. The price of the porcelain or metal models are slightly higher than those for the coloured models. This means the height is not adjustable. But it can be flexibly tilted.
