Marcel Wanders found his inspiration for this wonderful suspension lamp Flos Skygarden in his former house. The white ceiling was decorated with florid ornaments. He called this ceiling: my Skygarden. It was his indoor garden, a garden without the need of water, sun or care. When moving houses he didn’t want to leave his ceiling, so he took it with him and shared it with us in this fabulous design, Flos Skygarden.
Flos Skygarden creates an almost sacred atmosphere. The half spherical shape of Flos Skygarden reminds one of a dome, and the plaster decorations on the inside of Skygarden could appear in a church. The light is reflected against the relief decorations. The ornaments catch the attention, while the whole room profits from the beautiful light of Skygarden.
Flos Skygarden has a plaster diffuser support in die-cast aluminum alloy. Upper cable gland and blocking ring nut in black injection-molded PC. Shaped, adjustment screws. Transparent, injection-molded, upper and lower silicone shock absorbers. The lampholder and fixing support of Flos Skygarden is in PPS. Flashed and blown opal glass diffuser. Molded fixing ring nut in die-cast aluminum alloy with alodine plating. Frieze in photo-etched and mechanically drawn AISI 304 steel. Molded and galvanized steel ceiling attachment. Gray, injection-molded PC rose, painted the same color as the body.
