Taccia is a table or floor lamp by Flos for direct and reflected light, a design by the brothers Castiglioni in 1962.
Taccia exists of a metal reflector with gloss white finish inside and white powder-coated outside, an adjustable hand-blown clear glass diffuser. The extruded aluminum body of Flos Taccia is available in matte black or anodized silver. The polished steel base of Flos Taccia is nickel-plated and zapon-varnished.
Flos Taccia is a practical, bright lighting because of the large reflector and the dispersal of the light. Achille Castiglioni considered Flos Taccia the Mercedes of lamps, a symbol of success: perhaps because it looks like the shaft of a classical column. But this isn’t because the design brothers tried to achieve prestige with their Taccia design. They just wanted a surface that would stay cool.
