Artemide Mercury
On the homepage of Artemide, Mercury is put in the attention, not without a reason of course. Today Mercury is the showpiece of Artemide. Mercury is a rather new, and very innovative lighting, designed by Ross Lovegrove and presented for the first time in 2007.
The suspension and ceiling lamp Artemide Mercury are made of floating pebbles under a simple, modern aluminium disc. The pebbles reflect the light, the environment and each other. Even by day, when Artemide Mercury is switched off, this sculptural object reflects the natural light and the movement in the room. Artemide Mercury is more than a lighting fixture, it is in fact a piece of art, an original sculpture as a full protagonist in the room.
The lighting element of Artemide Mercury is a disc of die-cast aluminium. The reflective units are made of injection-moulded thermoplastic material with metallic finish.
